Pentimento - Lime Ginger Barrel-Aged Lager
Pouring a gentle, hazy, golden hue, this barrel-aged lager offers a brisk aroma of lime, oak and funk. Your first sip introduces those lime, funk flavours at the forefront, then fades into a nice ginger spiciness on the finish. Uncharacteristically, for a barrel-aged beer, this beer is remarkably simple, drinkable and perfect for a summer day. The off-dry finish begs you to come back for more. Don’t worry the funk loves the sun too!

Sam's Take On: Pentimento
Last year we saved 4 barrels of A Place to Stand for a rainy day. When we went back to taste them they all had very distinct flavour profiles. Two barrels had taken on a “Belgian Golden” type of flavour and aroma, another had gone completely sour and the last one was like an oak-aged version of A Place to Stand. They were all unique. When we blended them together they created a beer better than the sum of its parts. We really liked it but felt it was a little thin, so we added in a portion of fresh A Place to Stand. This gave it a nice mouthfeel but we still felt it needed a little something more. Cal went out and purchased a bunch of fruit and spices and we sat down and started experimenting and tasting. In the end, we felt the lime and ginger really made the beer pop. It gave it a wonderful summery quality along with an insane drinkability. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Cheers!
